There is nothing more I want than to be home with the family for the lunar new year.
My grandparents especially. They showed us the way to celebrate the festival; till today, it’s the only way we know how.
Us three would always complain when my dad insisted on blasting whiny mandarin lunar new year songs on the radio as we did our yearly visitations. Here’s what nobody knows: I’ve always secretly loved said whiny ching-chong songs; I just had to say I hated it to maintain my cred.
Because whenever I hear them, I know I’m home.
